Is Sawm(so-called Roza) in Quran a Fasting?

The triliteral Arabic root ص و م (Ṣ-W-M) carries the core meaning of:
To abstain, to refrain, to hold back, to restrain oneself(ie STOP).
It is not meaning to food fasting — its original sense is broader and deeper.
বিৰত থকা, ধৰি ৰখা, নিজকে সংযত কৰা(অৰ্থাৎ STOP)।
খাদ্য উপবাসৰ বাবে ইয়াৰ অৰ্থ নহয় — ইয়াৰ মূল জ্ঞান বহল আৰু গভীৰ।

Sawm connects with 🍀taqwā (God-consciousness) in 2:183.

What is 🍀Taqwā (تقوى)?
The root of taqwā is و ق ي (W-Q-Y).
Core meaning:
To protect, to shield, to guard oneself from harm/ৰক্ষা কৰা, ক্ষতিৰ পৰা নিজকে ৰক্ষা কৰা।

Sawm clearly means silence(ie stop speaking), not food fasting:
“Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful a ṣawm, so I will not speak today to any human.”
— (Qur’an 19:26)

Sawm implies:
Restraining the ego (nafs),
Withholding reaction,
Controlling inner impulses,
Creating inner stillness.
It is not “not eating.”
It is pausing the lower self so the higher awareness can rise.
Sawm ৰ অৰ্থ হ'ল:
অহংকাৰক সংযত কৰা (nafs),
বিক্ৰিয়া বন্ধ কৰা,
আভ্যন্তৰীণ আৱেগ নিয়ন্ত্ৰণ কৰা,
আভ্যন্তৰীণ নিস্তব্ধতা সৃষ্টি কৰা।
ই “নোখোৱা” নহয়।
ই নিম্ন আত্মাক স্থগিত ৰাখিছে যাতে উচ্চ সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি পাব পাৰে।
